POSITION SUMMARY
The Skyriver Engineering team is looking for a passionate Linux Systems Engineer. This role is ideal for an established Linux and Vmware Systems Engineer with experience on SQL, NAS, backup, BIND, etc. Majority of the daily responsibilities include establishing and maintaining standard for server infrastructure, virtualization, DNS, management and monitoring tools, and providing escalation support to operations team.
This position reports to Manager, Network Engineering.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build and maintain system frameworks, such as server virtualization, DNS structure, management/monitoring systems and tools
• Improve network monitoring system
• Mentor Operations team on System administration, and provide escalation support
• Build and maintain tools frameworks, such as Python dev/ops environment
• Develop scripts for configuration generation and deployment automation.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
• 5+ years Unix/Linux system administrator or engineering experience
• 5+ years Windows server system administrator or engineering experience
• 3+ years Vmware system administrator or engineering experience
• Strong knowledge and working experience on Storage, SQL Database, DNS architecture and implementation
• Knowledge and experience of Python or other script languages a plus
• Knowledge of standard networking monitoring technologies (SNMP, *Flow, etc.) a plus
• Knowledge on network device configuration and management a plus
• Knowledge of Solarwinds NPM, Salesforce CRM a plus
EDUCATION
