(must have 5 or more
years experience) to participate in our team that oversees our ASP
operations.
Reporting to the Network Team Lead, the successful candidate will be
customer-focused,
process-oriented, and have a successful track record within a 24x7
mission-critical
technical operations team. They will share overall accountability for
the performance
and availability of all production and R+D Database systems.
Candidate will be responsible for the installation, set-up,
configuration,
monitoring, and maintenance of all database and network related
functions within the
environment.
Candidate maintains existing database, web servers and applications
using available administration tools, including maintenance during
after hours
and weekend maintenance windows.
Candidate puts procedures in place to minimize recurring failures,
participates
on projects and cross-functional initiatives that require database
infrastructure
review and/or evaluation, and completes database tasks and activities
on projects
involving the deployment of application databases.
Candidate also implements necessary database configuration to support
these projects, contributes to
the development of an efficient, effective organization that uses
repeatable
and defined processes, standards, and procedures, and will implement
and maintain
the processes involved in database administration and maintenance, and
automate
where appropriate.
Candidate will be responsible for performing backups for a scheduled
basis.
To qualify, candidate must have 2 or more years of experience
with administration and configuration used to working
in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must have appropriate degree
and/or
Microsoft certification and must have in-depth technical knowledge of
SQL Server
2000 Enterprise Proven technical abilities and superior past
performance.
Organizational skills, analytical skills, and communication skills is
required. Product/Industry
Knowledge includes: MS SQL Server 2000 Enterprise, Windows NT/2000
and Linux (Free BSD). Technical knowledge in Internet technologies
including
TCP/IP,DHCP, WINS, DNS, Windows NT/2000, IIS, Unix, and Firewalls.
Experience in an ASP
