The current CEO seems to make Borland re-thrived. I remeber it has been a long time haven't seen Borland advs. Now you can see it everywhere. IT correspondents began to write stories about Borland again.
Talking about MFC, like OWL, Microsoft has turned it to 'maintian' state, that's why I wonder why your company is still using it. The next generation framework, .net, which borrows lots of ideas from VCL, is a much better solution for windows platform. But for C++ solution, this time Borland is obviously a winner. The concept 'not lock your cumstormers in' is a win-win policy,: they can use lots of mainstream techniques like boost, ace, etc. , meanwhile, the C++ community will pay more attention to Borland product because of the freedom and the productivity it gives to programmers. 前一段时间在c++.moderate里面看见一个人说了一句话：
MFC is a very good example for very bad example， in term of design
于我心有戚戚鄢。其实MFC不是设计得不好，而是设计得太复杂，没有必要地刚性。是一个非常好的过渡滥用面向对象技术的例子。C++那么多功能，偏偏只抓住面向对象特性不放。有好好的std::vector不用，偏偏要自己写一个CArray，然后还要给你提供3个版本：non-template base, template-base of simple elements, template-base of type safe pointer.
真佩服microsoft由简化繁的本事。
想想没有Bill Gates他老人家卖力的推销技巧，Microsoft怎么可能卖得出产品。
虽然我正想换工作，不过对MFC还是帕帕。唉，Tony兄，贵公司要是肯放下MFC这个巨无霸就好了。

我喜欢BORLAND的产品,从OWL到VCL到CLX.不过如果现在是OWL的高手,恐怕连吃饭都有问题. 用MFC只是谋生的工具,它如何不好,至少能开发出MICROSOFT OFFICE和让我有份工作.

当一个人有工作时,自然有条件高谈阔论,指点江山.

还是江总说得好，与时具进。Owl 和MFC属于同一时代的设计。

用了5年的DELPHI,感情深厚啊. 95年在国内还利用小小的职权劝公司买了一套BORLAND的产品,算是对得起它了.

2001年刚来加拿大吸了一口凉气,发现DELPHI/C++BUILDER 的POSITION是如此的少(不能说没有,不过要是跟VC比确实少).只好用仅有的VC经验应聘工作,找到的几份工作都是用VC的POSITION.

BORLAND离我越来越远了,虽然经常去BORLAND的网页,为它重回正轨感到高兴,心理梦想着什么时候再用回BORLAND的产品...

要是IBM收购BORLAND而不是RATIONAL ROSE就好了,VISUAL AGE FOR C++真的是烂.

支持所有市面上流行的C＋＋编译器，包括VC,GCC,Intel C++,Forte C
很快会有一个Pure C++ 的library取代VCL，可以被所有这些编译器编译。
另外，loki, boost, ace, xml spy 等这些都是in-box，再加上Together。
没有理由会比新的Visual studio 差。不过最大的争议和悬念是是否继续支持VCL，支持到什么程度。

而是和它的竞争对手比,它确实太小.基本上它的每一个版本都比MS的相应版本好,只是人们不知道BORLAND会不会突然间完蛋,象几年前一样.刚看了ECO的VIDEO介绍,真是COOL.

如果BORLAND的规模跟MS差不多,鬼才用MS的开发工具.象MFC,改个字体和颜色还要写代码.

首先,我们公司不会给介绍费给任何人,我也不会问人拿介绍费,压根就没想过.

新移民在加拿大得到一个INTERVIEW的机会真是很难.我来的两年多,才得到了5个INTERVIEW. 一般来说,如果是内部人介绍的,得到INTERVIEW的可能性是比自己投简历高很多的.我的第二份工作就是这样得到的.

WORKOPOLIS说30%的工作机会是PUBLIC,70%的是靠内部REFERENCE的.

我的MANAGER POST了一个EMAIL给公司的所有人,公司有一个POSITION,已经POST到MONSTER,如果谁想介绍朋友,请赶快.

我只推荐了一个人. MANAGER 拿着那人的简历,问清是我推荐的,十分钟后就给那人打电话,通知来INTERVIEW. 其它的人,我只好告诉他们如何在MONSTER找我们公司的POSITION,那有EMAIL地址. 我不能推荐一组人给我的MANAGER.

请不要把东西想得这么黑暗.
