Ensure all items/materials received into the WMS are carefully scrutinized and checked against packing slips and other forms of receiving documentation for correct catalogue numbers, batch numbers, expiry dates, order quantity and in suitable selling condition. Also responsible for allocating day-to-day operations amongst other receiving and put-away associates.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY COMPETENCIES:
-Accurate and timely receipt of all materials into computerized WMS locator system.
-Accountable for adhering to established security and receiving practices and accuracy of data entry for compliance to finance audit requirements.
-Evaluate, separate and secure product that require QA testing, CA approval and other holds deemed necessary upon receipt. Ensure communication of receipt is forwarded to the correct associates for immediate action.
-Prepares and issues stock control tags through the WMS. Tags are made available for stock put-away or cross-docking situations.
-Working knowledge and understanding of in-bound product flow from receipt of goods to put-away. Inventory accuracy is critical.
-Ensuring that the allocation of day-to-day activities is prepared and communicated to the necessary associates before the start of each shift to ensure completion of daily work-load.
-Compliance with worker regulations as outlined in OSHA.
-Responsible to locate and retrieve missing paperwork (e.g., Bills of lading, customs clearance forms, etc.) to provide enough detail to prove its origin and transport.
-Assists in housekeeping and administrative duties as required.
-Responsible for the training of new associates in the receiving / put-away functions.
-Responsible for tracking all in-bound loads and report results to Team Leader and/or Manager.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
-Secondary school education required.
-5-8 years experience in an automated WMS receiving/put-away environment.
-Certified to operate counter balance lift truck with slip-sheet attachment.
-Moderate to heavy lifting and operation of fork-life equipment and slip sheeting is required.
-Ability to deal with conflicting priorities with strong customer focus and timely decision making.
-Ability to utilize and understand WMS system and RF based receiving procedures.
-Ability to probe for solutions and correct problems as encountered daily with minimal supervision.
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a team environment.
-Ability to comply with established safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
