The Transportation Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day resolution of inbound and outbound freight issues. In addition the incumbent will take on responsibility for the detailed analysis of freight charges/methods in order to ensure that all customer requirements are being met while at the same time ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of accruals and actual charges for the Finance group. Also responsible for daily back-up support for Transportation, Team Leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY COMPETENCIES:
* Logistics SAP Super-User
* Maintenance of freight tables/charts used in operational reporting
* Preparation and maintenance of SAP/TMS freight tables
* Auditing of freight charges (inbound and outbound) including non-stock shipments, including preparation of accurate accrual information for Finance on a monthly basis
* Preparation of monthly reports on freight costs by Cost Center from Office Services to co-ordinate with Finance group for actual business/functional group charge-backs
* Preparation of monthly reports on freight costs for drops ships from the US to Canada in order to allocate directly to that Business unit and remove from Freight in (or out)
* Trouble shooting of day-to-day transportation issues
* Ongoing reviews of all customer requirements with Customer Service in order to determine the best use of current carrier base (or suggest changes)
* Ongoing review of all material based requirements (example: temperature sensitive materials)
* Ensure that above requirements are reflected in SAP and WMS
* Work with Team Leaders in order to ensure compliance of all requirements
* Auditing of inbound shipments from all sites in order to determine orderages/shortages/PPVs and the resolution of these discrepancies via transactions or coordination with Finance and Planning
* Reporting to sending sites on all discrepancies/shipping problems
* Keep the inter-company GR/IR and Blocked invoices less than 60 days
* Participate in freight analysis for costing project
EDUCATIONAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree
- 3-5 years experience in distribution warehousing or finance.
- Excellent reconciliation skills and deduction resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
