SQL SERVER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR - contract
You will maintain our corporate SQL server database and associated hardware platform, monitor related performance issues, and develop solutions and recommendations. Responsible for the production and test environment support of databases with a primary focus on providing backup and recovery strategies, you will manage the replication of a distributed data model. You have a degree in computer science and at least six years' overall IT experience including over three years as a database administrator. Knowledge of relational database concepts and logical and physical design as well as the development of stored procedures, integrity concepts, and client/server and Web environments is required. Your technical awareness includes SAN technology, cluster servers, scripting to automate SQL server tasks, Windows automation, Novell, TCP/IP and Windows NT/2000 environments, and ideally Oracle database administration as a foundation preferably on Version 8 or 9.
