SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Campus: 1345 St. Clair West.
The incumbent, under the guidance of the Coordinator, will be responsible for: greeting and providing general Centre information to clients and visitors; assisting with the administrative and front desk operations; managing the client database; ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Centre (including the opening and closing of the Centre); familiarizing clients and other community organizations regarding the Employment Resource Centre; assisting clients in the use of resources and equipment in a manner that will encourage a successful self-directed approach to the client’s job search as well as assisting clients during the CEW Computer Readiness Workshop. Also, the incumbent will help with the word processing of the work search documents for clients as required (eg. resumes, references, cover letters, envelopes, labels, etc.) and in client follow-up for reporting purposes.
DURATION OF NEED: TBD APPENDIX D
Hours of Work: 35 per week.
QUALIFICATIONS: Skill Testing Required: Yes
Secondary School graduate with a minimum of 2 years office experience as well as demonstrated knowledge of job search strategies and a sensitivity to clients. A good command of the English language (written and verbal) with a pleasant telephone manner is essential. Other qualifications include: proven resourcefulness with the ability to work in a demanding environment either independently or as an active team player; demonstrated working knowledge in MS Office (Word and Excel), Internet, databases, and spreadsheet programs with accurate typing skills (50 wpm); strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
