Description: Join the Ministry of Transportation's planning and design section to perform duties relative to provincial highway projects in one of the following opprtunities. You will: identify, assemble, analyse data for development of design alternatives; interpret data to determine design standards such as alignment/cross section; help prepare reports, designs, estimates/tender documents, requests; help senior staff prepare schedules, manage consultants, review corridor management issues.
Qualifications: knowledge of/experience in highway design principles/engineering theory in planning, design, construction, maintenance of highways; knowledge of/experience in analysing data re highway geometrics, traffic capacity, drainage design; knowledge of highway design practices/standards, related legislation; knowledge of/experience in computer programs used in highway planning/design; proficiency with word-processing, software; good written communication skills for drafting technical reports/correspondence; interpersonal, verbal communication, problem-solving skills.
