Role Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to manage offshore client engagements from upfront analysis through multi-year application management contracts using client management and standard project management techniques. The Project Manager ensures the continuity and adherence to standards, stated functionality throughout the lifecycle of the development process, and appropriate support processes for rolling out multiple overlapping projects. The Project Manager also analyzes the overall project status and quality assurance of development to ensure that the appropriate resource and information are gathered and successfully achieve project and business objectives. As the offshore Project Manager you will act as the primary communications point between anoffshore team and onshore client facing team. Project Management will require detailed day-to-day project management of both dedicated and leveraged technical resources. This position is key to the management of strategic program initiatives.
On any given engagement, a Project Manager may guide multiple off-shore project teams and while coordinating with onshore/onsite client management and technology teams. The Project Mangers is responsible off-shore Team Leads and Analysts. Function in a leadershiprole which includes implementation of, and adherence to project scope, issue management, risk management, change control, and quality management. Other facets of this role are:
-Main point of contact and project management between onshore and offshore engagement teams.
-Work with onsite and client teams to establish project plans, staffing, and coordination of work across geographically distributed teams
-Provide off-site project management and analysis of overall program status and quality assurance of development.
-Conducts project meetings with team to establish and review project status and issues, coordinate plans between projects, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
-Provide timely project tracking and other management oriented reports to onsite Program Manager.
-Review conceptual design options across projects and prepare recommendations of pros and cons for business and/or client acceptance.
-Manage engagement financials (project actuals, time tracking, risk assessment management)
-Project tracking to assure appropriateness of resources to resolve shortages or timing overlaps.
-Monitor and recommend changes to continuously improve application support.
-Communicate timely status of all deliverables and metrics.
-Grow existing accounts.
Description of Ideal Candidate:
-Masters degree in Information Services, Business or related field preferred. 5-7+ years of managerial experience and/or project management. 5+ years experience in the information services industry and change management programs.
-Ability to get things done through informal and formal lines of influence and leverage relationships to pursue further opportunities that benefit E5's strategic outsourcing practice.
-Ability to lead 20+ developers where work is spread across on-shore client-facing teams and off-shore development teams.
-Ability to work in a fast moving / changing environment
Soft-skills are critical in being able to communicate technical work clearly, build cross-divisional relationships with geographically distributed team of developers.
-Excellent communication and people skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
-Ability to self-motivate and work independently without supervision and adapt to rapidly changing environment.
-5+ years of the following domain skills: project management, client relationship management, estimation & deal structuring, team leadership, and application development & maintenance.
-Proven project management, team leadership and change management experience.
-Ability to work with internal and external clients in gathering and interpreting requirements to effectively establish successful working relationships.
-Experience in structured analysis, design techniques, assessing risk and impact (foresight to recognize project issues), problem resolution and follow-through.
-Experience managing contract labor.
-Ability to self-motivate and work independently without supervision and adapt to rapidly changing environment.
-Strong collaboration skills to encourage and support teamwork.
-Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English
-Certificate of Project Management highly preferred
-Experience in delivering in a CMM 3 level organization of higher preferred
