We are a marketing services company located in Ajax, Ontario that provides
marketing services for our clients. These services include management of
direct-to-consumer promotions, call centre services, database management, coupon
redemption, consumer research, assembly and direct mail.
Job Description
We are looking for an individual to join our IT department. This is a
fast-paced environment with situations changing all the time. The ideal person
must be able to adapt while keeping a positive attitude.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day activities such as
back-ups, system updates and troubleshooting/repairing desktop PCs. You will
work with end users in our call centre to troubleshoot any connectivity issues
that may arise (usually Internet related). The candidate must be reliable. The
candidate must also be flexible in term of hours.
Mandatory Skills
Problem solving. The ideal candidate must be able to think quickly and
decisively in order to diagnose problems and come up with a viable solution.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate
will have to deal with end-users on a regular basis and be able to report back
to the Network Administrator on any issues that arise.
Basic network/computer troubleshooting skills. A+ and/or Network+ certification
would be preferred but is not necessary.
Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2000. Must be
able to diagnose connectivity issues between clients and servers, as well as
from server to server. Primarily you will be dealing with server/client issues.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory, DNS, WINS and RRAS in Windows
Server 2003.
Knowledge and understanding of EFS, NTFS Sharing/Permissions and Client/Server
Certificates.
Knowledge and understanding of Cisco routers including IOS commands, ACLs, VPN,
firewall, routing and NAT. For the most part, work that is done on the Cisco
routers is performed using the SDM interface using a web browser. However,
there are times when the SDM is not practical and the command line interface
(CLI) is used.
General knowledge of Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2000/2003. An integral
portion of our business runs through the Exchange Server and, as such, the end
users require 100% uptime.
General knowledge of SQL Server 2000. This is for connectivity with the end
users. A fair amount of custom software runs on client machines and requires
connectivity to the SQL Server.
Position available immediately.
Starting salary is negotiable.
