Cleaner (Contract Position) 1st Stop Woodlawn
1st Stop Woodlawn is a unique community of women from diverse backgrounds,
sharing experiences in a safe and secure environment. Situated in a quiet,
residential area, 1st Stop Woodlawn is ideal for women in changing situations.
Under one roof, 1st Stop Woodlawn provides specialized shelter for young women,
16-25, as well as emergency shelter for mature women of all ages. Second stage
housing is also provided for women who require additional support in times of
transition in their lives, and long term accommodation is available for women
seeking the stability of a room of their own.
Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, 1st Stop Woodlawn Residence/Humewood, the
Cleaner is responsible for the cleaning of 1st Stop Woodlawn Residence including
waste removal and is also responsible for preparing rooms for occupancy and
meetings.
You will have: a generalized education at the high-school level with technical
training in building maintenance; 1to 3 years experience in the trade.
The hours of work for this position are 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, 8
a.m. to 4 p.m. (some weekend work may be required). The hourly rate for this
position is $11.91 per hour.
Contract Start Date: Monday, July 25, 2005 Contract End Date: Friday, September
2, 2005
Please note: A police reference check is required by the successful candidate
prior to hiring. YWCA is a unionized workplace. Staff are represented by CUPE
Local 2189. This position is not within the Bargaining Unit. At the end of the
contract (i.e. Friday, September 2, 2005), the position will become a relief
position and the hours of work for the position will be varied as needed.
