We are seeking an Electronics Engineer or a Senior Electronics Technologist to work as an Applications Specialist with our proprietary CCD and LASER based sensor systems. These complex sensor systems measure dimensions, velocity and displacement of steel and aluminum in the rolling process using advanced signal and data processing methods. If you are looking for a position that offers a broad range of technical challenges, unprecedented opportunities to learn new skills and frequent international travel, representing our company and supporting our customer installations, then we would like to hear from you.
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 to 5 years related experience, or an Electronics Technologist Diploma and 7 to 10 years related experience
Experience commissioning and servicing electronics in a heavy industrial environment (camera systems, sensors, PLCs, control systems, etc.)
Customer service experience (technical support to customers via telephone, email, remote internet access, and in person when necessary)
You feel comfortable making technical presentations, and leading customer training sessions
In addition to skills related to your years of work in the electronics industry, you also have good mechanical aptitude, ideally from experience working with basic mechanical systems
While this position does not require experience with designing electronic hardware, nor with writing embedded real time code, it does require that you have a solid grasp of the fundamentals of how each work together, and an ability to translate customer's related needs into clear instructions and specifications to our design teams.
Job Description:
After undergoing appropriate training, you will have project responsibility for customers' orders, coordinating and contributing to project execution, including in house testing of complete systems, as well as responsibility for the field service and installation phases (installation planning, start-up and final system acceptance). The job also involves delivering customer training both on site, and in house. You will occasionally get involved with providing technical support to other internal KELK departments (i.e. Hardware Design, Software Design, Production, Sales, and Marketing). This position requires frequent international travel.
George Kelk Corporation is a major worldwide supplier of force sensors and advanced opto-electronic instrumentation for non-contact dimensional, displacement and velocity measurement, also related signal processing, data processing and control systems. In business for over 55 years, we are acknowledged by our metals industry customers to be a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of innovative, high quality, industrial instrumentation.
