Role:Business Technology Analyst
Location: Downtown Toronto
Reports To: Manager, Business Technology
This is a role looking to move into a business analysis role as an intermediary between technology and real estate business.
This is aTier 3 role (dealing with new issues – if issue through the pipeline and it’s new, requires research for solution, document solution and test. Send solution to client). The candidate should be able to train and work with Tier 2 people (how to document and correctly communicate issues). Theideal candidate will be able to deliver/have experiencetraining. This is going to be a big part of the role (a deficiency in the current team). MUST be able to clearly communicate about applications to wider audience.
There is a lot of change going on in the department structure. The team is made up of 4 strong technical people (heads down personalities) and the Hiring Manager is looking for someone who will work closely with him, someone with astrong business background. The person needs to have more business analysis (more on the business side of things rather than on the technical side –ie: documentation, requirements, etc.).
The person doesn’t need to have worked in an IT department, but should be familiar with it/be able to pick up quickly. They should understand real estate/be familiar with the industry.
Under Technical skills in the job posting, CTI, Clarity, Argues DCF or Cougar are currently being used however someone with CTI, Clarity, Argus DCF or any related financial app (Great Plains,Yardi Enterprise, JD Edwards, etc.) would be great. The financial apps listed in the job posting are all interrelated.
Projects the candidate will work on includethe cougar project (new roll out of new app cougar). Also other projects include smaller enhancements, improving user experiences, user reports, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Gather and document requirements
• Create design specifications
• Support the development and data migration process
• Document test plans, test cases and scripts
• Manage, execute testing and support UAT
• Create training materials and deliver training
• Support deployment
• Support post deployment maintenance and user support
• Ensure the project deliverables are met according to specifications and plans
• Guide and assist the user groups on issues related to the design, development and deployment of mission critical information systems
This position includes two primary roles:
• Business Analysis and Business Process Support: Support the real estate forecasting and valuation process – perform all the required tasks during the process with respect to these applications, find areas of improvement and suggest solutions, perform requirements gathering, design, testing and deployment support when new business process requirements arise. Participate in related business process improvement projects.
• Application Support: Maintain the forecasting and valuation applications, participate and manage required application upgrades, perform end user access setup and configuration.Document application support procedures for tier 1 and 2 support groups. The role ensures quality and timely delivery of support to end users in the organization. This includes troubleshooting applications for all customers. Work with the vendors on new enhancements and application releases.

• Able to learn, understand and apply new technologies

• Able to work with various levels of staff; such as senior managers, property managers, and building engineers
Experience:
• 5-7 years business analysis
• Understanding of/exposure to real estate forecasting and valuations (nice to have)
• Experience delivering training for applications (nice to have)
• Must have Real Estate industry experience/understanding of the industry; looking for someone with an accounting/finance background (dealing with financial applications)
Education:
• College or University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field or equivalent workingexperience
• PMP designation an asset
Technical Skills:
• Nice to have experience with CTI, Clarity, Argus DCF or Cougar (used along with other in-house applications); experience with similar financial applications such as Great Plains, etc.; practical experience with the applications is required
