Client: Royal Bank of Canada
Duration: 9 Months Contractual Engagement
One of our financial clients in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Systems Administrator for an initial 9 month engagement. The Systems Administrator will be working on a large data centre project. Below I have included more information.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide the necessary support to ensure the highest level of service for all systems
- Contribute ongoing updates to Disaster Recovery and business Resumption Plans
- Provide assistance during the execution of Disaster Recovery Exercises
- Maintain a very good operational knowledge of the tools required for support of the systems, subsystems and support products.
- Manages a varied, unpredictable workload, while interacting with a team of specialists providing support to various projects.
- Ability to work with vendors and people from various departments on a very technical level.
- Develop and maintain the necessary skills to support new technology being implemented into the area.
- Provide technical support for problem analysis/determination to ensure affected components are promptly restored to service & ensures appropriate follow up.
- Review changes prior to implementation to ensure these will not interfere with service levels.
- Create and maintain documentation and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve/escalate incidents according to established SLA guidelines
- Ability, when required, to provide 2nd level 7/24 on-call/onsite support for systems environment
Knowledge and Experience:
-Solaris 10 - patching techniques on Solaris
-RHEL 4/5/6
-Vmware with Linux
-SAN/NAS Experience
-TSM
-X-Series IBM Hardware Experience
- Large Operations shop experience
