Position Title: Project Engineer
This is a fast growing company which recently setup a new engineering office in China. We are constantly looking for talented engineers to join our team.
Responsibilities
• Support product development and consulting projects , for example, assist conceptualize and develop designs of mechanical components & systems in CAD; assist in product validation, testing and development activities
• Assist the project manager for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects; Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Help manage company's China office, including communication and coordination of activities between Inertia’s Toronto office and China office
• Manage activities between project and vendors, such as build vendor relationship, maintain vendor database, evaluate vendor’s performance
• Manage request for quotations, complete manufacturing cost analysis, management of purchasing process and evaluation of supplier quality
• Participating in client/vendor meetings and resolving client/vendor/engineering and management project issues.

Required Qualifications
• A university degree or college diploma in engineering or design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Must be fluent in Chinese(Mandarin)
• 2-5 years experience in conceptualizing, designing and detailing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD modeling tools from conceptualization through to prototype and production
• Understanding and application of project management principles, experience in working with multiple discipline projects.
• Delivering assigned projects under strict time constraints
• Analyzing problems and developing creative and practical solutions
• Carrying out sound, logical evaluations of new ideas or alternatives prior to making decisions or recommendations
• Operating in a collaborative and helpful manner respectful of others
• Conducting thorough and accurate evaluations of written reports and numerical data
• Creating engineering reports and presentations using MS-Office products
• Experience in creating and deploying product validation and testing activities
• Experience in designing for manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, plastic injection moulding, metal casting, fiber reinforced composites
• Experience in interacting with prototype and fabrication suppliers

• Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to and visit a client’s office, or production facility;
