This position will be responsible for sourcing factories and products in China to support our growing RPET product line up. Building relationships and strong negotiation skills is key for success in this role! This role is a key role within the company and offers valuable and unique experience with tremendous growth potential in the future. Focus will be on the development and manufacturing of RPET products.
Qualifications
• Fluent and articulate in Mandarin Chinese, written and oral communications
• Fluent and articulate in English, written and oral communications
• Understanding of the import/export process is an asset
• Previous knowledge of the RPET process and capabilities are incredibly valuable but not a prerequisite
• Demonstrated knowledge of terms, conditions, duties, etc for exporting products to North America from China
• Respected for managing diverse and multiple relationships both internally and externally
• Must have strong skill sets with Microsoft Office products
• Proven negotiation skills are a must! Persuasive presentation skills are key!
• Ability to manage many projects, demonstrating effective time management, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills
• Must have impeccable business acumen, inclusive of business ethics and values that align with the company
• Ability for occasional travel, along with flexible scheduling are a must
• Understanding of marketing/branding is an asset
Duties
• Communicate sourcing requirements in English to manufacturerd in Mandarin
• Source and qualify new Chinese vendors
• Manage Chinese vendors through negotiating pricing, quality and product delivery timelines to align with client expectations
• Prove to be unyielding in the pursuit to ensure that vendors do not cut corners on quality, increase pricing or delay in completing product orders.
• Manage and develop staff, including semi-annual performance evaluations and career development.
• Arrange inspections of merchandise on the vendor floor
• Manage daily import request list.
• Generate product spec for import requests.
• Send import requests out for estimate.
• Provide duty rates for import products.
• Manage factory supplied images for requests.
• Develop product deck for client requests.
• Open dockets and job folders.
• Create financial documentation including order confirmations and purchase orders.
• Order, track and file samples.
• Learn and understand the import process.
• Provide production support (vacation, sick, overflow).
• Assist Director of Production in administrative duties.
