Job Description:
Senior UNIX Administrator role - Work as part of a team responsible for the Support and Administration of a growing mission critical SAP Landscape consisting of over 100 UNIX ERP Systems managing over 600TB of data. Candidate must have:
• Between 3-5 years supporting highly sensitive AIX & LINUX workloads (see hiring criteria for specifics )
• Able to work as part of a 'team', have strong project management skills and able to communicate clearly and effectively.
UNIX System Support and Administration - Production and Non-Production SAP Systems 50%
System Design, Security, Patch levels and performance tuning 10%
Provide ongoing review of architecture providing guidance and recommendations 5%
Deploy and configure new workload environments 5%
Create and maintain technical documentation 20%
Participate in Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing activities 10%
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adhere to Infrastructure Change Management processes;
• Mentor and knowledge transfer to team;
• Attend and participate in meetings to support service delivery;
• Participate in out of hours on-call rotation;
• Work across cross functional teams to implement and maintain environments
• Monitoring of the systems Performance and capacity management
Preferred Hiring Criteria:
• 3-5 years Redhat LINUX and AIX System Administration experience
• Knowledge of IBM AIX v6.1 and PowerVM 2.1
• Experience with x86 Blade technology and IBM pSeries hardware
• Proficient with scripting in Korn shell or Perl
• Understanding of SAN technology
• Strong team player and customer support focused
• Lead and conduct project work effectively and professionally
• Problem Solving and a clear sense of ownership and responsibility
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent beneficial
• SAP Exposure beneficial
• Knowledge of HPUX and STORAGE skills would be advantageous, however not a requirement.

If they dont have the proper resources in place to support both AIX and Linux, they run the risk of letting their systems falling which would cost the organization $ as well as great potential health risks associated with their products
