The Senior Developer will perform the necessary leadership, analysis, design, and hands-on development tasks related to the development of an enterprise solution, satisfying our client needs.
Responsibilities
• Acts as technical lead and application architect in development projects using industry best practices
• Strong focus on finding cost-effective solutions that meet client needs
• Point of contact for any technical issues, questions and challenges that may arise during execution of a project
• Generates artifacts supporting the SDLC, including High Level Design and Detailed Design Documents
• Prepares high level cost sizing and application impact analysis for any new feature requests
• Coaches and mentors junior staff within the IT Group as required
• Leads and participates in design and program code walkthroughs
• Sets high standards for own work and ensure high quality outcomes are achieved
• Ensures effective work habits including punctuality, responsiveness and accessibility to others
• Ensures knowledge transfer to other IT team members to create backup skills and knowledge
• Represents the Morneau Shepell IT team in client and vendor discussions
• Observes the corporate values of Morneau Shepell
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related study or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in architecting/designing/developing large n-tier business systems for high availability and scalability based on the Microsoft .NET platform.
• Proficiency in .Net technologies including C#, WCF, WF, Multithreading, ADO.Net, Web Services, IIS, MSMQ.
• Proficiency in web development including ASP.Net, ASP.Net MVC 4/ Web API, Java Script, JSON, CSS
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL server including SSRS/SSIS and a good understanding of relational database systems
• Experience in code testing methods (e.g. test/behavior driven development) and tools (e.g. unit testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, etc.)
• Experience in BizTalk, Delphi, Crystal Reports, Visual Basic 6, COM+ and classic ASP is an asset
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Object Oriented Analysis, Object Oriented Programming and Design
• Advanced working knowledge in software development methodologies including design patterns, enterprise integration patterns, systems analysis and design, database design
• Excellent analytical and problem determination skills
• Strong communication, organizational and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated and goal oriented
• Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
• Ability to act as a leader and an agent for change
• Strong ability to negotiate, facilitate, manage conflict and manage risk
