Role:
• Researching, designing and implementing of web and database applications.
• Maintain and support existing ASP based, e-commerce web application which includes;
o Designing, developing, testing, and implementing new pages, reports and other areas on website for internal staff, members or general public.
o Set up branch programs, membership renewal and National Conference
o Ensuring online client database is duplicate-free through daily updates.
o Maintaining online member database up to date with weekly updates from Salesforce.
• Responsible for the administration of all activities and communications in the online medium:
o Conduct online survey to member and non-members (one evaluation form per program)
o Conduct election survey when needed
o Administrate
o Website security (public/member/admin sections)
o Windows user account
o Email accounts (auto responders, spam filtering, usage, etc.)
o Interact with web hosting company, registrar when necessary
• Provide ongoing technical support to members and co-workers.
• Update Salesforce with new member information on a weekly basis.
• Project based- Understand business requirements and translate those into technical requirements.
• Ongoing research of existing and new technologies to improve the way STEP Canada operates e.g. webcasting, hosting.
Day to day responsibilities:
On a day to day basis, the IT person will not have many dealings with the members. Instead, that person works closely with the Membership Coordinator to assist in: set up of branch programs; updating member information; fixing duplicate account; maintaining on-line member registrations; management of website contents; verification of online payments; monitoring member/non-member orders; daily database backup and server backup
She/he also implements programs and works closely with our accountant so financial data gathered on our online administrative website can be coordinated with her accounting records. She/he develops web information portions of our site, for example, for all our student members, branch program coordinators and the members at large. She/he maintains all the contact information.
There will be tasks for other staff such as our Educational Director, e.g. building and maintaining a database on STEP Canada’s students.
She/he takes care of all of the staff computers and software (Microsoft Word, Acrobat, email, and internet tools). She/he sets up windows user account and email; She/he coordinates IT operations and information flow with our worldwide office in London.
Skills required:
Must Have:
• ASP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL, Photoshop, Access, IIS
• Basic knowledge of windows server and exchange server (windows user account set up, email set up etc.)
• Familiar with Visual Studio 2010
