Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Performing in-depth protocol and network analysis to determine root cause of application and network performance related problems.
• Perform service maintenance activities including Change Management coordination and implementation.
• Responsible for Incident Management ensuring that incidents are effectively escalated, managed, and resolved with full communication of status, plans, and actions to management and customers.
• Monitoring and oversight of network performance, capacity, and tune related network components.
• Bringing forward new ideas, providing recommendations to enhance network performance, reliability, and support capabilities.
• Supporting network automation systems related to configuration management, rule development, policy enforcement and reporting.
• Effectively utilizing supported network management and monitoring systems.
• Maintaining network designs, procedures, and related support documentation.
Required Skills
• A Computer Science degree or equivalent in real-world experience.
• 5 years of LAN and WAN network design and support experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows administration
• Experience of Implementation and support of Windows Servers, Active Directory, VMware or other virtualization products.
• A solid understanding of different firewall technologies
• Excellent technical design and documentation skills and be able to mentor other team members and help with the design and build of various solutions.
• Superior organization skills and a strong attention to detail.
• A willingness to learn new technologies while working in a fast changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
• Be effective at managing multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meeting deadlines and working well under pressure, along with proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of network security and best practices.
• A strong understanding of ITIL practices.
• Project management experience and skills are an asset.
• Excellent customer service skills and a strong ability to diffuse tense customer situations and project a positive, confident outlook.
